As the Head of Technology, you will lead the strategic direction, development, and implementation of our IoT systems, data infrastructure, and digital platforms. You will be responsible for driving innovation, overseeing the full product lifecycle, and managing a multidisciplinary and international teams of engineers and developers. You will play a key role in shaping our technology roadmap, ensuring our products remain industry-leading, scalable, and resilient.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute the company’s overall technology strategy aligned with business goals and market trends, enhance efficiency, scalability, and profitability to control costs while supporting growth opportunities and ensuring a competitive position in the market.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of IoT hardware and software solutions for agrometeorological monitoring.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of robust data pipelines, cloud platforms, APIs, and user interfaces.
- Ensure high standards for cybersecurity, data privacy, and system reliability.
- Manage, mentor and develop teams of hardware engineers, embedded software engineers, cloud developers, data and AI engineers, software engineers and developers, across multiple locations.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to maintain our competitive advantage.
- Drive the strategic integration and adoption of AI-powered solutions across the organization to enhance productivity.
- Accelerate the integration of advanced AI techniques into both existing and emerging METOS solution portfolios – spanning physics-based models, hybrid knowledge-based systems, and learning frameworks. Spearhead the development and the orchestration of AI agents, maintaining a strategic balance between deterministic methodologies and agentic approaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Operations) to align technology initiatives with customer needs and business objectives.
- Build and manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and technology providers.
- Establish best practices for hardware and software development, testing, and product deployment.
- Oversee technology budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Represent the company at industry events and with key stakeholders when required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, IoT Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, ideally in IoT, embedded systems, or precision agriculture.
- Proven experience designing and deploying IoT systems at scale, including hardware design, firmware development, wireless communication protocols, and cloud integration.
- Experience and ability in balancing management of legacy technology and modernization processes.
- Strong knowledge of environmental sensor technologies and data acquisition systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data analytics pipelines.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles for IoT devices and cloud services.
- Exceptional leadership, team building, and project management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Work permit for Austria.

METOS Italia Srl, filiale italiana di Pessl Instruments Gmbh, società austriaca che da 40 anni fornisce, a livello mondiale, soluzioni tecnologiche avanzate per l’agricoltura con il marchio METOS e strumenti hardware e software IoT per il processo decisionale, ricerca per il potenziamento della sua rete commerciale, un: KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER.
La figura avrà la responsabilità di:
- Gestire e supportare tecnicamente i principali clienti e rivenditori nel Nord Ovest (Lombardia, Piemonte, Liguria, Veneto ed Emilia);
- Gestire e supportare key accounts nazionali sia dal punto di vista commerciale che tecnico;
- Pianificare le attività di vendita per raggiungere gli obiettivi aziendali;
- Fornire assistenza tecnica presso i rivenditori e clienti finali (se e quando fosse necessario);
- Promuovere i prodotti e servizi del catalogo METOS Italia sia direttamente presso i clienti finali che indirettamente a eventi di campo, fiere e altri spazi di promozione;
- Rapportarsi direttamente con il Country Manager dell’azienda per la pianificazione delle mansioni, organizzazione del lavoro e ricezione di direttive.
Sono richiesti:
- Residenza nelle provincie di Milano, Pavia, Alessandria o Piacenza;
- Laurea in Scienze Agrarie o Diploma di Perito Agrario;
- Preferibilmente esperienza triennale nel settore dei servizi 4.0 in agricoltura (sistemi di monitoraggio agrometeo, DSS, sensoristica);
- Autonomia e motivazione alla vendita;
- Livello inglese B2.
