Germinarea maxim\u0103 are loc atunci c\u00e2nd exist\u0103 ap\u0103 liber\u0103. Conidiile germineaz\u0103 \u00eentr-un interval mai larg de umiditate relativ\u0103 (92 p\u00e2n\u0103 la 100%) dec\u00e2t ascosporii (98 p\u00e2n\u0103 la 100%). Jacome \u0219i Schuh (8,9) au raportat c\u0103 frunzele mai b\u0103tr\u00e2ne sunt mai sensibile; cu toate acestea, E. Bureau (comunicare personal\u0103) \u0219i Romero (18) au observat c\u0103 frunzele mai tinere sunt mai sensibile (de la prima la a treia) dec\u00e2t cele mai b\u0103tr\u00e2ne.<\/p><h3><strong>Perioada de incuba\u021bie<\/strong><\/h3><p>Timpul dintre infec\u021bie \u0219i apari\u021bia simptomelor variaz\u0103 \u00een func\u021bie de condi\u021biile meteorologice \u0219i de sensibilitatea plantelor (68). La bananieri, se estimeaz\u0103 c\u0103 momentul infect\u0103rii frunzelor coincide cu apari\u021bia unei noi frunze din v\u00e2rful pseudostemului (20). \u00cen condi\u021bii foarte favorabile \u00een Costa Rica \u0219i cu o gazd\u0103 susceptibil\u0103, se poate observa c\u0103\u00a0<u>perioada de incuba\u021bie<\/u>\u00a0poate fi de 13-14 zile, \u00een timp ce \u00een perioadele cu vreme nefavorabil\u0103, durata perioadei de incuba\u021bie se poate prelungi p\u00e2n\u0103 la 35 de zile. Rapoarte similare exist\u0103 \u00een Nigeria, pe plantain (16). \u00cen timpul sezonului ploios, perioada de incuba\u021bie a fost de 14 zile, dar \u00een sezonul uscat a fost de 24 de zile. Aceast\u0103 cre\u0219tere epifit\u0103 permite ciupercii s\u0103 colonizeze \u021besutul foliar adiacent, ceea ce duce la dezvoltarea rapid\u0103 a simptomelor (4,20).\u00a0<em>M. fijiensis<\/em>\u00a0are o capacitate mai mare de a p\u0103trunde \u00een mai multe stomate dec\u00e2t\u00a0<em>M. musicola<\/em>, ceea ce duce la o p\u0103tare mai mare dec\u00e2t \u00een cazul primului agent patogen (20).<\/p><h3><strong>Perioada latent\u0103<\/strong><\/h3><p>De\u0219i conidiile pot fi produse \u00een leziuni care prezint\u0103 simptome timpurii de\u00a0<em>M. fijiensis<\/em>\u00a0\u0219i contribuie la epidemie, perioada de laten\u021b\u0103 este definit\u0103 de momentul \u00een care ciuperca \u00eencepe s\u0103 produc\u0103 leziuni cu pseudotecii \u0219i ascospori maturi, care reprezint\u0103 principala surs\u0103 de inoculum. Ca \u0219i perioada de incuba\u021bie, perioada de laten\u021b\u0103 variaz\u0103, de asemenea, \u00een func\u021bie de condi\u021biile meteorologice, de sensibilitatea gazdei \u0219i de intensitatea infec\u021biilor. Perioada de laten\u021b\u0103 a variat de la 25 de zile \u00een timpul sezonului ploios (iunie-decembrie) la 70 de zile \u00een timpul sezonului uscat la Guapiles, Costa Rica. Atunci c\u00e2nd vremea este foarte favorabil\u0103 desc\u0103rc\u0103rii ascosporilor \u0219i infec\u021biei, multe infec\u021bii apar pe frunze.
