responsables de l'o\u00efdium des cucurbitac\u00e9es. <em>Podosphaera xanthii<\/em> et <em>Erysiphe cichoracearum<\/em> \u00e9tant les agents pathog\u00e8nes les plus importants. Historiquement, <em>E. cichoracearum<\/em> \u00e9tait consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme l'agent causal principal dans le monde entier jusqu'en 1958. Cependant, <em>P. xanthii<\/em> est devenue l'esp\u00e8ce la plus r\u00e9pandue associ\u00e9e \u00e0 l'o\u00efdium des cucurbitac\u00e9es dans le monde. <em>E. cichoracearum<\/em> se d\u00e9veloppe g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement dans des conditions plus fra\u00eeches, telles que le printemps et le d\u00e9but de l'\u00e9t\u00e9, tandis que le <em>P. xanthii<\/em> prolif\u00e8re plus efficacement pendant les mois les plus chauds. En outre, <em>P. xanthii<\/em> semble plus agressif que le <em>E. cichoracearum<\/em>. Bien que la distinction entre les conidies de ces deux esp\u00e8ces puisse \u00eatre difficile, la pr\u00e9sence de corps de fibrosine dans les conidies de <em>P. xanthii<\/em> est un crit\u00e8re essentiel pour d\u00e9terminer les deux.<\/p><p>Les champignons de l'o\u00efdium se reproduisent \u00e0 la fois par voie asexu\u00e9e et par voie sexu\u00e9e.<\/p><p>De mani\u00e8re asexu\u00e9e, les conidies (spores asexu\u00e9es) se posent sur une plante h\u00f4te, o\u00f9 elles germent et produisent un appressorium et un haustorium pour extraire les nutriments de la plante. Les conidiophores \u00e9mergent des hyphes et produisent de nouvelles conidies, dispers\u00e9es par le vent, propageant ainsi l'infection. La p\u00e9riode d'incubation dure g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement de 3 \u00e0 7 jours et un nombre important de conidies peut \u00eatre produit en peu de temps.<\/p><p>La reproduction sexu\u00e9e a lieu lorsque des hyphes de types oppos\u00e9s se rencontrent et forment des cleistoth\u00e8ces. Les cleistoth\u00e8ces contiennent plusieurs asques, chacun contenant huit ascospores (spores sexuelles). Ils servent \u00e9galement de sources d'hivernage, permettant \u00e0 l'agent pathog\u00e8ne de survivre dans des conditions difficiles. Des taches poudreuses blanches de myc\u00e9liums et de conidies se forment \u00e0 la surface des feuilles, des p\u00e9tioles et des tiges, ce qui les rend facilement reconnaissables. Au d\u00e9but, des taches brun-rouge apparaissent, puis deviennent blanches \u00e0 mesure que les hyphes et les spores sont produites. Ces colonies fongiques se regroupent et couvrent toute la surface. L'infection par l'o\u00efdium entra\u00eene une r\u00e9duction de la photosynth\u00e8se, une s\u00e9nescence pr\u00e9matur\u00e9e, voire la mort de la plante. Si les fruits ne sont pas directement ou rarement attaqu\u00e9s par le champignon, ils peuvent subir des d\u00e9formations ou une maturation pr\u00e9coce. Ces fruits se conservent mal (courge d'hiver), pr\u00e9sentent une faible teneur en solides solubles et un mauvais go\u00fbt (melon), ont une \u00e9corce de mauvaise couleur (citrouille) et des poign\u00e9es ratatin\u00e9es et d\u00e9color\u00e9es (citrouille). Les premiers sympt\u00f4mes sont de petites taches circulaires de couleur havane avec un centre blanc sur la surface sup\u00e9rieure des feuilles. Ces taches s'agrandissent, deviennent brun clair et forment des l\u00e9sions l\u00e9g\u00e8rement d\u00e9prim\u00e9es avec des anneaux concentriques, caract\u00e9ristiques de l'infection par le virus de la maladie d'Alzheimer. <em>Alternaria<\/em> infections. Un halo jaune entoure les l\u00e9sions, qui peuvent finir par fusionner, entra\u00eenant une n\u00e9crose et une d\u00e9foliation \u00e9tendues. Dans les cas les plus graves, cela peut entra\u00eener une r\u00e9duction du rendement et un m\u00fbrissement pr\u00e9matur\u00e9 des fruits. Les infections des fruits se pr\u00e9sentent sous la forme de l\u00e9sions brunes enfonc\u00e9es qui peuvent devenir sombres et floues en raison de la production de spores. L'agent pathog\u00e8ne peut infecter plusieurs fois au cours d'une saison de croissance, ce qui entra\u00eene une propagation rapide de la maladie et une perte importante de r\u00e9coltes. Les plantes infect\u00e9es se fl\u00e9trissent souvent et meurent en quelques jours, les racines et les tiges devenant molles et imbib\u00e9es d'eau. Le pathog\u00e8ne peut \u00e9galement infecter les racines des mauvaises herbes, ce qui complique les efforts de rotation des cultures.<\/p><h3>Sympt\u00f4mes<\/h3><p><em>Phytophthora<\/em> Le mildiou affecte les cucurbitac\u00e9es \u00e0 tous les stades de croissance, entra\u00eenant la fonte des semis, la pourriture du collet et de la vigne, des taches foliaires et la pourriture des fruits. Les plantules infect\u00e9es d\u00e9veloppent des l\u00e9sions imbib\u00e9es d'eau sur l'hypocotyle, provoquant un fl\u00e9trissement rapide et la mort. Les plantes matures peuvent pr\u00e9senter des l\u00e9sions brun fonc\u00e9, imbib\u00e9es d'eau, sur les tiges et les vignes, entra\u00eenant un fl\u00e9trissement et un effondrement soudains. Les feuilles peuvent d\u00e9velopper des taches sombres, imbib\u00e9es d'eau, qui fusionnent dans des conditions humides, entra\u00eenant une br\u00fblure \u00e9tendue. Le pathog\u00e8ne survit sur les d\u00e9bris v\u00e9g\u00e9taux dans le sol sous forme de conidies, de myc\u00e9liums ou de scl\u00e9rotes et, dans des conditions favorables, les spores germent sur les tissus s\u00e9nescents ou les blessures. Le champignon forme un myc\u00e9lium qui d\u00e9truit les parois cellulaires et se propage, produisant une moisissure grise avec des conidiophores.<\/p><p>L'infection peut se produire avant ou apr\u00e8s la r\u00e9colte, les spores restant dormantes jusqu'au stockage, o\u00f9 l'humidit\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9e et les basses temp\u00e9ratures d\u00e9clenchent une nouvelle croissance. Le champignon se propage des fruits pourris aux fruits sains, g\u00e2chant ainsi des r\u00e9coltes enti\u00e8res. L'am\u00e9lioration de la ventilation gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un large espacement des plantes et \u00e0 l'effeuillage permet de r\u00e9duire l'infection.<\/p><h3>Sympt\u00f4mes<\/h3><p><em>Botrytis cinerea<\/em> affecte toutes les parties a\u00e9riennes des cucurbitac\u00e9es, y compris les feuilles, les tiges et surtout les fruits, en formant une moisissure grise caract\u00e9ristique.<\/p><p>Sur les feuilles, des taches circulaires avec des zones concentriques et un halo chlorotique apparaissent, partant des bords du limbe et progressant vers la n\u00e9crose. Des chancres humides peuvent \u00e9galement se d\u00e9velopper autour des tiges, souvent \u00e0 partir de l'effeuillage, de blessures de cueillette ou de tissus s\u00e9nescents, entra\u00eenant le fl\u00e9trissement et le d\u00e9p\u00e9rissement.<\/p><p>Les fruits, en particulier ceux dont les p\u00e9tales s\u00e9ch\u00e9s restent attach\u00e9s, sont des points d'entr\u00e9e vuln\u00e9rables pour le champignon. Il se d\u00e9veloppe dans des conditions humides et provoque la pourriture des extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s. Les fruits infect\u00e9s pr\u00e9sentent une pourriture molle typique, avec une imbibition d'eau et l'apparition rapide de masses de conidies grises. Le champignon infecte d'abord les fleurs s\u00e9nescentes et se propage aux fruits adjacents, provoquant une pourriture des extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s de la fleur.
