Si usted sabe que s\u00f3lo tiene 125 mm (5 pulgadas) de agua almacenada frente a 225 mm (9 pulgadas) de agua almacenada en un perfil de suelo diferente, va a gestionar los nutrientes y el cultivo de manera diferente. Adem\u00e1s de la humedad subsuperficial, el exceso de\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/es\/snow-advantages-to-agricultural-production\/\">manto de nieve invernal<\/a><\/span>\u00a0puede proporcionar la humedad que tanto necesita el lecho de siembra y, por tanto, la germinaci\u00f3n.<\/p><p>Por eso es muy importante que, una vez cosechado el cultivo, caigan lluvias o nieve h\u00fameda, ya que es el momento de recargar el suelo (llenar el dep\u00f3sito de gasolina para el a\u00f1o que viene). Si se llega al oto\u00f1o con un \"dep\u00f3sito de gasolina bajo\", el riesgo de que el rendimiento sea menor el a\u00f1o que viene es mayor. Est\u00e1 disponible en longitudes de 10, 30, 60, 90 y 120 cm con sensores fijos cada 10 cm. La sonda Aquacheck utiliza la misma tecnolog\u00eda, pero s\u00f3lo proporciona mediciones de la humedad y la temperatura del suelo.<\/p><p>Obviamente, una sonda de suelo proporciona una lectura mucho m\u00e1s precisa del contenido de humedad de todo el perfil del suelo que los m\u00e9todos tradicionales. Al disponer de esta informaci\u00f3n, puede tomar decisiones informadas sobre los aportes al cultivo a lo largo de la temporada y en los periodos cr\u00edticos de siembra y fertilizaci\u00f3n, adem\u00e1s de que conocer la salinidad y la temperatura del suelo le ayuda con otras decisiones agron\u00f3micas.<\/p><p>En la siguiente ilustraci\u00f3n, en la que se utiliza una sonda Triscan de 90 cm de Sentek, se puede ver claramente cu\u00e1ndo la lluvia se infiltra en cada capa del suelo, desde la m\u00e1s superficial a la m\u00e1s profunda, cu\u00e1nto ha aumentado cada capa y el tiempo que ha tardado en llegar a cada capa desde el inicio de la lluvia. Se trata de un enfoque hol\u00edstico: seguimiento en tiempo real de las precipitaciones, la humedad relativa, la humedad de las hojas, la velocidad\/direcci\u00f3n del viento, las condiciones de pulverizaci\u00f3n, el nivel de campo\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/es\/weather-forecast\/\">previsiones meteorol\u00f3gicas<\/a><\/span>alertando,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/es\/disease-models\/\">modelos de enfermedad<\/a><\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/es\/yield-prediction\/\">predicci\u00f3n del rendimiento<\/a><\/span>\u00a0y la lista sigue creciendo. En un ejemplo, la explotaci\u00f3n ten\u00eda una pluviosidad muy inferior a la normal, y todas las explotaciones de los alrededores hab\u00edan renunciado b\u00e1sicamente a aumentar el rendimiento debido a las condiciones de sequ\u00eda. Pero, bas\u00e1ndose en la media a largo plazo, la probabilidad de que lloviera el mes siguiente era buena, y la sonda de humedad del suelo mostr\u00f3 que a\u00fan quedaba mucha agua en el suelo para aumentar el rendimiento.<\/p><p><strong>Entonces, \u00bfqu\u00e9 hicieron?<\/strong>\u00a0Salieron a abonar - varios kilos de N en toda la granja. Hacer esto en un per\u00edodo muy seco, levanta las cejas de muchos.<\/p><p>En el momento de la cosecha, sus franjas de control produjeron varias fanegas por acre menos que el resto del campo y, con el N adicional, los niveles de prote\u00edna aumentaron, lo que les report\u00f3 una prima.<\/p><p>En este caso, obtuvieron $1,25 m\u00e1s por fanega s\u00f3lo en prote\u00ednas, adem\u00e1s de 11 fanegas m\u00e1s por acre gracias al aumento del rendimiento. En cuanto al coste de los insumos: $15 por el N y $6 por los honorarios del aplicador - $21 por acre - pero el rendimiento neto fue de $162 por acre m\u00e1s.
